The trip…
Foresters are in preparation for the trip to France which has been planned for June – but this is no normal weekend visit this is a special invitation for the band to play at Didier Laconte’s wedding, an old friend and supporter of the band. This is an exciting event for the band and while we are there we will also take advantage and enjoy performing a full concert in Didier's home town of Desvres on the evening of the wedding and a further lunch time concert on the Sunday on our way home.
History…
Didier and his family have been great supporters of the band for a great many years, and we have forged a fantastic friendship with him. He has played host to the band for several trips we've made to different parts of France and his warm welcome has always been unsurpassed.
The Wedding…
The band is delighted to have been invited to perform at the wedding celebrations of Didier Laconte. We will be playing a selection of pieces which Didier has specifically requested, featuring cornet solos from Peter Collins. It is a privilege to be asked to play such a significant part in our friend's special day, and we are all greatly looking forward to sharing the weekend with Didier and his family.
