Success in Sheepy Magna

Ethan Hall playing 'My Love is like a Red Red Rose'

After our concert at Aylestone in February, we were invited to perform a concert in Sheepy Magna Church. This was our first concert since our very positive result at the Area championships, so it was important, as it always is to give a professional, and well polished performance.

Musical Director John Davis led the band with an entertaining programme that featured excellent solos from Principal Cornet Ethan Hall, Solo Horn Paul Speed-Andrews, Solo Euphonium Ben Smith, and Flugel player Phoebe Snook. The Front Row Cornets and Trombones also impressed during their features. John as ever provided an engaging commentary during, which included a spot of whistling, and a quick but detailed tour of the instruments of the brass band!

Stuart from the Church left a lovely message with our band chairman Steph, saying

"We had a great evening and have received many unsolicited comments today to say how much everyone enjoyed the concert.

John was on great form last night, professional as ever, introducing each piece in an informative and entertaining way. He also gave us a fascinating insight into each of the different types of instruments.

By far the biggest memory for me was not only hearing a perfect performance but seeing how much the band clearly enjoyed themselves.

Foresters Brass - what a great team!"

Thank you to the wonderful audience at the Church. Putting on performances like this wouldn't be possible without this support for the band.

The band are very much looking forward to performing in Sheepy Magna again for our Christmas Concert in December.
