New Year Updates

As we get into 2020, there's always the inevitable situation of players moving onto new ventures. Bethan Brown our Solo Baritone player, and Ben Smith our Solo Euphonium player have taken on much longer journeys up North as Bethan has taken the Solo Baritone seat at the Leyland Band and Ben has taken the Second Euphonium seat at the World famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

These are amazing oppourtunities for the both of them and everyone at Foresters wishes them all the best! Although bittersweet as they are both such assets to the banding world, the Band are thrilled to welcome Jimmy Blay on Euphonium having already showcased his talents on Trombone for many years with the band. We would also like to welcome William Neeve on Solo Baritone who is currently studying at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Euphonium Virtuoso Matthew White.

The band are now getting stuck into Philip Sparke's 'A Tale as Yet Untold' for the upcoming Area contest in March, and if you would like a preview you can hear the band perform that alongside a varied programme featuring some superb soloists at our upcoming concert on Saturday 22nd February at 19:30, St Andrew's Church, LE2 8PE.
